Behind the fabric
Born from the question of how to make Australia’s textile supply chain as ethical and circular as possible, the Mud to Marle project was created by Full Circle Fibres with support from the Country Road Climate Fund. By rethinking traditional methods and uniting designers with engineers, the team turned the short-length “waste” wool fibres into a beautiful new fabric – proving that meaningful sustainability doesn’t require new inventions, just smarter use of what we already have.

By blending waste wool fibres with Australian cotton and dyeing only the wool, the Mud To Marle project cuts dye-related emissions and water use by roughly 33% while transforming normally discarded waste fibres into premium fabric. Entirely produced onshore — from raw fibre to finished textile — Mud To Marle demonstrates that circular, low-impact manufacturing can thrive locally when design, engineering and supply chains work in harmony.

We preshrink all our fabrics to make your life easy. Cold wash and line dry is best for the planet, but tumble dry is fine if you can't. Iron as required. Do not bleach.

Meet the Mud to Marle Tee - a world-first sustainable fabric made entirely entirely on shore and exclusive to Citizen Wolf. It’s 100% homegrown, from the Aussie Super Cotton® and Merino wool from local farms, to the makers that tailor it to your body.

The innovation is simple but brilliant. High quality but “lower value” Merino fibres, normally too short to spin and typically discarded, are blended with premium Australian Super Cotton to create a soft, breathable yarn that’s both strong and significantly more sustainable. The result is a beautifully balanced fabric with the natural softness and temperature control of wool, but at cotton prices.
